Ilonggo Inmates-Family Congress set

Iloilo City (29 May) -- Working for the welfare of Ilonggo inmates, the Regional Service Providers Council in coordination with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Region 6 will conduct a First Inmates-Family Congress on May 31, 2008.
The activity with its theme "Sambayanan ay Makialam, Pagbabago Ipaglaban - Para sa Kinabukasan at Kaligtasan," will be held at BJMP Iloilo City Districy Jail, Ungka, Iloilo City.
According to Rev. Fr. Nestor R. Caber, regional chaplain of the BJMP 6, the Regional Service Providers Council is a newly organized council by the Regional Chaplaincy of BJMP 6.
"It is composed of different religions and Churches, government and non-government organizations, and volunteers as service providers and partners serving the inmates' welfare and development, so that the inmates will be productive citizens upon their re-integration in the mainstream of society," Fr. Caber said.
He said that the congress aims to enhance and strengthen linkages and partnership among different government and non-government organizations and individuals.
The scheduled activities for the said First Inmates-Family Conmgres are: Orientation, acquaintance and cordialities, games; Workshop I - Effective Communication (knee to knee); Five Languages of Love; Lecture on Ang Pamilyang Nagmamahalan, Krimen ang Naiiwasan; and Inspirational Message from SSupt.
