Feature: Tagum becoming RP's music center

    Tagum City (9 February) -- Tagum City is heading its way towards becoming the country's music center with the coming in of musical performers of national and international credence.
    In a press conference Tuesday, City of Tagum Tourism Council chairperson Alma Uy said this year's press conference will be bringing in the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra which is on its first time to perform in Mindanao. (+)

Comelec assures ARMM voters a clean election

    Davao City (10 February) -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) ARMM is all set for the conduct of 2010 May Elections given that automation is no longer new to the voters in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) after a local election was staged in the area last 2008.
    Comelec Maguindanao election officer Maceda Lidasan Abu gave another briefing to some government and private sectors as initiated by the Citizens Coalition for ARMM Electoral Reforms (Citizens CARE) yesterday (February 9) at the Grand Regal Hotel, this city. (+)

NEDA XI urges gov't agencies to pursue e-gov services

    Davao City (10 February) -- National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) regional director Ma. Lourdes Lim recommended for the government to pursue the development of e-government services.
    "The use of ICT is imperative to government's vision of promoting efficiency and transparency," this she said after claiming ICT as one of the developing industries in the region. (+)

Davao Norte pegs rice sufficiency at higher level than NEDA report

    Tagum City (10 February) -- The Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO) of Davao del Norte has calculated rice sufficiency of the province at a much higher level than what has been reported by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) XI.
    In an interview Monday, Provincial Agriculturist Dominador Encarnacion pegged rice sufficiency level of the province at 91 percent in 2009, way above the 43.3 percent as reported by NEDA XI. (+)

4Ps families attend DSWD Anniversary

    Davao City (10 February) -- Forty beneficiaries from Cluster 3, Davao City attended the recent 59th DSWD founding anniversary celebration and awarding ceremony at SM City Davao Event Center. The theme for this year's celebration is, "DSWD: Kaagapay at Gabay sa Kinabukasan."
    "Nalipay mi nga misalmot niani nga selebrasyon! Kini ang amoang pirmero nga higayon nga naimbitahan sa pag-selebrar sa anibersaryo sa DSWD. Dako usab kaayo amoang pasalamat sa DSWD sa paghatag sa amoa sa 4Ps (We are very happy that we attended this celebration! This is our first time to be invited in DSWD's anniversary celebration.
